Diploma of Screen and Media (CUA51020)

Course Overview

The Diploma of Screen and Media (CUA51020) is an 18-month full-time course that trains the creative aspects and theoretical fundamentals of filmmaking, but primarily focuses on the technical and organisational skills that ensure success in the industry.

QSFT’s Diploma of Screen and Media course equips students with a thorough working knowledge of the film and television industry. Students will comprehensively learn about the technical, organisational, creative, and fundamental aspects of filmmaking in a highly supportive environment.

Students are required to roll up their sleeves and experience the practical reality of filmmaking, at the same time exploring the finer creative points of this exciting and challenging medium.

Our highly sought-after Diploma of Screen and Media program gives students a first-class working knowledge of the film and television industry, taught within a supportive learning environment.  Students will complete the course with qualified knowledge and skill to pursue employment within the areas of the creative industry.

Mid-year entry is available and students may elect to study individual subjects offered in the course without completing the entire Diploma.

Specialised study pathway

Scholarship

The Queensland School of Film and Television offers a Scholarship for school-leavers applying for the Diploma of Screen and Media Program.

 

The scholarship is for full-time participation in the course()s and cannot be transferred or extended. If the student is unable to complete the program within the allocated time and wishes to complete the program past the full-time course period, the remaining subjects will be at the student’s own cost.

 

The Scholarship is not redeemable for cash or any other forms of credit.

 

Eligibility

To be eligible you need to:

  • Enrolled in Diploma of Screen and Media Program
  • Current Year High School Graduate
  • Be an Australian Citizen/resident
  • Provide Expression of Interest (up to 300 words)
  • Provide a Portfolio of Work
  • Undertaken media related subjects

 

Applications for the scholarship will only be accepted if you have met all the above criteria.

Tuition Fees

Payment Plans

At QSFT we recognise that not all students have the financial resources to pay tuition fees upfront, therefore we offer an accommodating interest free payment plan or extended payment installment schedule via 3rd party financial provider.

Austudy/Youth Allowance

QSFT Students enrolled in 3 or 4 Areas of Study may be eligible for bus and train discounts.  Please contact Centrelink for further details about your social benefit eligibility.
